MIDDLETOWN, NY - A Newburgh woman was awarded the maximum amount under the defendant's insurance policy after suffering a fractured sternum in a car accident that occurred on February 9, 2005. The insurance company claimed that there was no fracture. Sobo & Sobo, LLP, who represented the woman, discovered from the hospital records that X-Rays taken at the emergency room showed a fractured sternum. After a lawsuit was filed on July 1, 2005, the case settled for the defendant's maximum insurance policy limit. 22 NYCRR 1200.1 requirement:
