Kara Nelson Esq.
Personal Injury Lawyer
I attended the University at Albany for my undergraduate studies where I majored in U.S. History and minored in sociology. I served on the executive board of Delta Delta Sigma Sorority and was also elected as Philanthropy Chair for 4 consecutive semesters. I then attended Albany Law School, where I took a particular liking to Moot Court Competitions, including Client Counseling, Appellate Advocacy, and Senior Prize Trail Competition. I also had the opportunity of working with elected officials of the City of Schenectady to conduct field research and identify legal intervention options and data-driven solutions to Urban Blight. I successfully commenced the first abandonment proceedings in New York State transferring clean title of a vacant and abandoned property to the municipality, which is now used state-wide as another tool for combating blighted properties.

As a child, I was always involved in different sports and activities. My parents always encouraged me to try new things and would support me, on the condition that even if I did not like it, I wasn’t allowed to quit. This really shaped me into being a highly driven and competitive individual who never gives up and always finishes whatever I start.
I love having the ability to help others, especially in a time of need. When someone’s whole life has been turned upside down, being the person who can help them get through this difficult time, is so rewarding. Not only can I take on their legal problems, but I can also be there as someone to talk to during the process.
